Charlie Bryan Knight, Jr.
Charlie Bryan Knight, Jr., 83, husband of Elizabeth (Bette) Hunt Knight of Mt. Pleasant, SC died at a local hospital in Charleston, SC on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009. The relatives and friends of Charlie Knight, Jr. were invited to attend his Funeral Service on Wednesday, Dec.16, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Burial was held on Thursday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m. at Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Monroe, Georgia.
Mr. Knight was born Oct. 23, 1926 in Monroe, son of the late Odessa Little Knight and Charlie Bryan Knight of Monroe, Georgia. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed by Western Electric in Atlanta, GA, Miller Cadillac and Charleston Lincoln Mercury in Charleston, SC. He was also an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Shadowmoss Country Club, Charleston Elks Club and the Charleston Rifle Club.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Bette) H. Knight of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sons, Lewis D. Knight of Anderson, SC and Charlie B. Knight, III of Mt. Holly, NC; stepson, Thomas P. Hanson, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC; stepdaughter, Carol H. Wright of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandson, Joshua B. Knight of Lumberton, NC; granddaughter, Callie Boyd Knight of Anderson, SC; and a step-grandson, Adam C. Wright of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
The family requests that memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 604 Pitt Street, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
