Donald Lee Schussler

Donald Lee Schussler of Loganville, died on Oct.1, 2009 at Embracing Hospice Care in Snellville.

Born on Feb. 9, 1926 in Washington, PA to Harry and Laura Schussler, he served in the army during WWII and married Wanda Mae Littell in 1946. Together, they raised two children, James and Karen.

Don worked for Crucible Steel in Midland, PA for many years before relocating to Haines City, FL in 1984. While there, he held several positions, including school bus driver and the Service Manager for Montgomery Air.

In 2003, Don and Wanda moved to Loganville, GA and joined Corinth Christian Church. Don was a 30-year member of the Barbershop Harmony Society, having sung in East Liverpool, OH; Polk County, FL and most-recently, the Stone Mountain Chorus, where he sang with his son-in-law and two grandsons.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a sister, Jean Palmer.

He is survived by his brothers, Dale of Canonsburg, PA and Richard of Ringgold, GA; sisters, Ruth Boyd of East Liverpool, OH and Miriam Shook of Quincy, FL; son, James of San Jose, CA; daughter Karen Brooks; and grandchildren Daniel and Michael Brooks of Grayson.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. at Corinth Christian Church; 1635 Hwy 81 SW, Loganville, GA 30052 with the Rev Don Hardison officiating.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Embracing Hospice Care in Snellville, GA or Harmony Foundation in Nashville, TN.
