Mrs. Virginia “Jean” Norton
Mrs. Virginia “Jean” Norton, age 88 of Conyers, a retired Quality Control Engineer with Owens Illinois, died Nov. 28, 2009.
She is survived by husband, Leon Norton, Conyers; two sons, Mike and Nancy Norton, N. Augusta, SC, Toney and Lynda Norton, Conyers; three grandchildren, Melanie Cochran, N. Augusta, SC, Jeff Norton, Decatur, Simon Norton, Conyers; two great-grandchildren, Colby and Katelyn Cochran; nieces and nephews. Mrs. Norton was a member of First Baptist Church Conyers, the Church Choir and retired from Owens Illinois/Owens Corning in 1994 after 35 years of service.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. at Scot Ward’s Harry White Chapel with Dr. John Wyatt and the Rev. Waldo Woodcock officiating; interment will follow at Hill Haven Memory Gardens, Monroe. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of service.
