LCA tournament begins today

LOGANVILLE — ’Tis the season for holiday basketball tournaments and today and Saturday, Loganville Christian Academy plays host to its second annual Christmas Classic.
Boys and girls teams from Heritage Christian School (Sharpsburg), Colonial Hills Christian (Lithia Springs), Young Americans Christian (Conyers) and LCA will vie for tournament titles in the two-day event.
In the girls bracket, the action gets started at 2 p.m. today when the Eagles from Young Americans face the Colonial Hills Rams.
In the other preliminary game, the LCA Lady Lions take on Heritage Christian at 6 p.m.
The consolation winner will be decided at 10 a.m. on Saturday and the girls championship game gets underway at 2 p.m. Saturday.
In the boys bracket, Young Americans meets Colonial Hills at 4 p.m. today. In the 8 p.m. nightcap, Loganville Christian Academy faces the Crusaders from Heritage Christian.
The consolation game for boys will be played at noon on Saturday and the championship will be decided with a 4 p.m. tip-off Saturday afternoon.
According to Andre King, LCA athletic director, admission prices for all games will be $5 for adults and $3 students. Children age 8 and under are admitted at no charge. LCA Booster Club passes are not valid for tournament and postseason play.
King also said players and spectators will enjoy the LCA Booster Club-sponsored concession stand, featuring fresh-off-the-grill burgers, brats, hotdogs and more.
