Fire pumps smoke downtown
A fire behind the Brown Oil Co. in Monroe Thursday morning sent smoke into the downtown sky. No injuries were immediately reported.

Monroe crash
At 7:05 a.m. Tuesday, emergency personnel responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection on North Broad Street and Mayfield Drive with one person entrapped. The victim was transported to Atlanta Medical Center with unknown injuries.
