Ed Farmer
Ed Farmer Ed Farmer, 67, husband of Dean Farmer, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Born in Clarke County, Ed had lived in Oconee County most of his life. He was the son of the late James Edward and Frances Hardy Farmer. He was the owner of Farmer Grading Inc and a member of Grace Fellowship Church. He served his country in the US Coast Guard. In addition to his wife, survivors include his son and daughter-in-law: Glenn and Lynn Farmer of Bogart; daughter and son-in-law: Janet and Todd Green of Bogart; sister: Mary Hardigree of Bogart; brother: Bobby Farmer of Bogart; grandchildren: Brandy Hamlin, Eli Crawford, Victoria Farmer, Lindsey Farmer and Drew Farmer.

Lillie Mae Lowe Lillie Mae Lowe, age 93 of Springfield, TN. formerly of Monroe, passed away April 29, 2008. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 1, 2008 in the Chapel of Arthur Bowick Funeral Home, Monroe. Mr. Charles Taylor & Mr. Gary Hudson officiated. Burial was in Mt. Vernon Christian Church Cemetery, Monroe. Mrs. Lowe was a member of Church of Christ and preceded in death by her husband: William Bedford Lowe; son: David Wayne Lowe. She is survived by daughters: Diane Henry of Springfield TN., Virginia Taylor of Charlotte, NC; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Arthur Bowick, Inc. Funeral Directors, 823 E. Spring Street, Monroe, GA. was in charge of the arrangements.

Felton “Red” Smith Felton “Red” Smith age 80 of Monroe, died on April 25, 2008. He was born in Morgan County on Sept.14, 1927 to the late Jim Daniel Smith and the late Clemmie Deaton Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Patsy Thurman Smith. Surviving are: daughter and son-in-law: Rebecca and Terry Cover of Conyers; sons and daughters- in-law: David and Linda Smith of Loganville, and Philip and Cindy Smith of Loganville; four Grandchildren, and two Great Grandchildren.

Alice Hammonds, of Lo- ganville, died April 16, 2008, at Walton Regional Medical Center, at the age of 89. Mrs. Ham- monds enjoyed traveling, collecting dolls and snow- men, and loved spending time helping family mem- bers or anyone she came in contact with. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grand- mother and great grand- mother. Mrs. Hammonds was preceded in death by her husband: Howard W. Hammonds.

Clara Brooks Bolton, 86, of Monroe died on April 17, 2008 She was born Clara Belle Dunahoo to John and Beulah Watson Dunahoo on Aug. 22, 1921, she is the last of the eight siblings to go to be with Jesus. She married her first love, Harold "Pete" Brooks in Spring on April 27, 1941. She and Pete had four children, Bob, Jayne, Carol and David Brooks.

Robinson and Charlotte Derthick. He graduated from Richfield Springs Central School in 1940, and later earned a degree in Business Management from Mohawk Valley Community College.

Rev. Mack Carter, 88, of Sparks, Ga., passed away April 10, 2008 at his resi- dence. He was born March 17, 1920 in Ber- rien County to the late Joel Washington Carter and the late Lillie Fender Carter Britt. He lived all of his life in Cook County, was a WW II Army Vet- eran, retired minister and farmer, and was a member of Beulah Holi- ness Baptist Church. He was the oldest ordained minister in the Holiness Baptist organization.
